Fourth LTT in Belgium

Within the scope of the planned schedule, we carried out activities such as learning the use of organic products in daily life, the use of educational computer software (under the guidance of ICT teacher Bart van Malderen, the key person of the Belgian partner), observing how the recycling processes worked, planting trees, which was the most effective way to help nature. Apart from our project subject, they had the opportunity to see Brussels, the capital of the European Union.

Our activities for a 5-day period were as follows:

1st Day: Got to know each other games prepared by the host country. Presentations of schools, cities, and countries by the pupils. Evaluation of the previous mobilities with the impressions and reached goals. (What have we done so far?)

2nd Day: The participants did shopping at an organic shop for the ingredients of a lunch that they made for themselves. They were responsible for their own lunch and, made it totally with organic products.

3rd Day: The participants went to a location, where they planted trees in collaboration with a local nature association called ‘natuurpunt’ (’www.natuurpunt.be). The pupils also visited a local farm where they were informed about the farming situation in Belgium.

4th Day: The participants visited a plastic processing company and a recycling center. In addition, they had a chance to have conversations with environmentalist activists. They interviewed them.

5th Day: Filled in the satisfaction survey prepared by the host country. The certificate ceremony. The principal of the host school gave the signed certificates of attendance.

With the activities done in this mobility, pupils thought about ways to help the world. By creating international groups, they produced and presented creative solutions as a result of brainstorming. They learned how to interact in an effective way and developed their social self-expression skills.
